TheHorse.com THE HORSE March 2018 12 A SUCCESSFUL INITIATIVE I wanted to let you know we had an amazing Equitarian workshop in Costa Rica this month. The 26 of us included six instructors/Equitarian Ini- tiative board members, two far- riers, four students/American Association of Equine Practi- tioners Foundation scholarship recipients, one Delta ( Canadian group) scholarship recipient, and a variety of enthusiastic veterinarians. We discussed your January article ("A Day in the Life of an Equitarian"), which was excellent and much- appreciated. One woman came because she'd seen a previ- ous article and first heard of us through that. We worked on 300 horses and continued building our relationship with several communities. Thank you so much for your contributions and support of what we do. Judy Batker, DVM Oregon, Wisconsin 12 MONTHS OF ANATOMY Thank you for the 2018 anatomy calendar. It's the best I've ever seen, which means a lot because I see a lot of calen- dars. I hung it up in my office, and all my students love it. They get to talk with me about the college application process (I'm the guidance director at the Waldorf High School in Saratoga) and learn horse anatomy at the same time! I'll be using it, looking for- ward to learning from it, and am so impressed with what you did. Bravo. Carolyn Karlson, PhD Saratoga Springs, New York Clair Thunes @HorseFeedingPro Ever wonder about the differences and similarities between coconut meal and rice bran? I share some details...
